Ever happen to you?
Today was my first.
After school, I learned my principal of 9 years is being transferred to the middle school.
She has been a wonderful person to work for who genuinely cares about her staff and students professionally and personally.
She knows the names and circumstances of my husband, children,
and parents. Not because she can, but because she cares.
She has turned our school into a family and I consider her a friend.
Her door is always open and her phone was always on if she was needed.
I will miss her presence and influence in our school
and in my classroom.
She believes in me and has pushed me to always be my best.
I will try to look on the bright side.
She will now be the eyes I do not have @ the middle school
where my son will attend next year.
Now, on to a lighter note. I am linking up with Farley's Monthly Currently Linky Party.
I'm sorry to hear your news. My principal retired this year. She'll be missed too. What an adventure we'll be on next year, huh?

So sorry to hear about your principal:(
ReplyDeleteIt's really hard when you like them. I had the same principal for 22 years and then she retired. It was really hard! Like you, I WANT to lose weight this summer...but I need to lose a lot more than 20. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your principal :(. Hopefully you get someone just as wonderful who steps in. I am hoping to lose about 15 pounds or so myself this summer!

Learning Is Something to Treasure
Awww! That is too bad! My principal retired last year after 29 years... it was beyond sad! Hopefully the person who comes in is great too :)
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to lose a principal that has been such a wonderful person to work for. We have had tears at our faculty meetings many times! Especially when we find out someone is moving as in your case. I wish I could lose some weight, but I just don't seem to have the will power right now.

I can somewhat relate to your feelings of your principal leaving. My principal isn't going anywhere (yet), but she is amazing. I don't know what I'd do if she left! She really makes it her responsibility to not only hear what is happening in the classrooms, but to see it. Some teachers might get annoyed (okay, most would), but administration walks through our rooms at least 3x a week - sometimes multiple times a day. They aren't doing it to criticize anything, they just honestly care about what is going on. Our school is very close. I hope you get a good replacement! Enjoy your summer :)

I had the exact same faculty meeting 3 years ago. I loved my old principal but just adore my new one! Things happen for a reason! I am your newest follower.

Third Grade Love
I cried last year in a staff meeting when they announced our principal's retirement. It was out of the blue and no one saw it coming. She gave me my start, showed me the way, and let me fly. I feel ya. Here's to someone stepping in who knows what they are doing :) Merry summer bloggy friend.

My mom gave me that book for Mother's Day. I haven't had a chance to read it yet. You inspired me to pick it up this morning! Blessings to you. . .
