Time Out is Over and Currently

Hi everyone!
I've missed the blogging world for a few weeks.
One of my goals this summer was to learn to relax and not spend so much time on school related activities.  I began the summer with 3 book studies and was trying to blog about 2 of them every few days.  By the time July came around I was still blogging about 2 of those, working on my Teacher of the Year Portfolio, and tutoring 2 days a week.  I just keep thinking to myself.... "I'll work on that relaxing goal later!"  A week before vacation, I finished my portfolio and decided it was time!
I took time off and by the time I went to the beach I had it down pat!
My beach buddies were surprised I worked on nothing school related the entire trip!  No lie!
It made the time at the beach go by much slower.
Lisa - teacher, Beverly - works at Middle School, Anita - bff and assistant in first,
Sherri - friend, Me!
My family at our favorite beach restaurant - Burro Locco

A week home from the beach and I am still on beach time.  I just can't seem to shake it.
So, today I am diving back in again.  I am beginning my Meet the Teacher Gift for my kiddos!
Hopefully, I will have them made for Made It Monday.

Currently, I am joining Farley's monthly link up.

Listening:  My ipod has quite the variety.  I love country music, but also like rap, pop, and jazz.

Loving:  With 3 kids, it is sometimes hard to find time alone with each other.  We try.  Yesterday, we rode the motorcycle to the mountains to visit friends.  We rode around on the mountain trails in their ATV, ate avocado salad and had some homemade ice cream.  Then, on the way home, we stopped to have a very late snack!

Thinking:  Time goes by so fast.  Summer is almost gone.  My middle child is now a senior and my oldest just seems to come visit now.  Wish I could zap them back in time!
Wanting:  Usually by this time of the year we know our class list and most know their assistants.

Needing:  The piles of laundry never end!

Back to School Must Haves:
1)  I've had my chair pockets for several years and I am gradually buying new ones to replace.  They are from Aussie Pouch.  Click the picture to go there.
2)  I've said it before, but I must say it again.  I cannot start the school year without my Mr .Sketch Markers!
3)  I always give my students something on Meet the Teacher Night as a welcome present.  For the past few years it has been a survival kit.  It is time for something new.  I bought some craft items from Stampin UP and plan to make something owl themed.

If you haven't already become a follower of my other blog, stop by and follow.

  1. Time does fly by too fast ! It's hard growing up even for parents. My oldest will be a Senior and my baby a freshman. Boo Hoo!

  3. Good for you for not working on anything work-ish during your vacation! :) It's so hard to do as teachers because there always seems to be something we COULD be working on, but taking a break in the summer is so important for being refreshed and ready! I hope you find out your class list soon, and I have to say I'm a little jealous you have an assistant! I never have. Have a great first few weeks of school! :)

  4. I hope you will share what you make for your Meet the Teacher gift! I am doing an owl theme this year, and have seen some ideas on blogs/Pinterest, but nothing that I have just fallen in love with. Hoping your idea is my winner!

  5. Hi Tamera! I'm linking up with you for the August currently...sorry it took so long, but I'm a newbie so I'm still figuring a lot of stuff out! I keep seeing everyone with those Mr. Sketch markers, so I guess I need to try them out! I'm not sure when you were TOY, but congrats! I dream of the day when I might be as great of a teacher as you obviously are! Enjoy your kids and the rest of your summer!
