How Do Penguins Stay Warm?

Yesterday, we conducted a science experiment called "How Do Penguins Stay Warm?" First, students competed in pairs to see who could keep their "flipper" in the cold Antarctica waters the longest. Their faces were the cutest! Then, students placed their hands in blubber gloves and discovered blubber helps penguins stay warm. One kiddo said, "I could keep my hand in here forever, now!"
Special thanks to Deanna Jump for the idea which came from her Penguin Unit.

  1. Chey had a great time doing this. When she got home, she asked if we could do it again. As always thanks for making first grade so fun for the kids :)
